Belfast to Dublin by rail?

Anyone know what the name of the station is in Dublin that the Belfast train would arrive at? I have friends heading to Dublin on Wednesday for the day on Ryan Air and while printing out their boarding passes I linked them to the Dublin Bus website to show them the airport bus and rambler pass etc and saw the 748 goes from the airport to two railway stations but we don't know which station they need to be at to meet someone coming from Belfast.

    It's called Connolly station.
  • Ah right, I saw mention of Connolly Station, would that be near the centre?

Yes, it's about 3-4 minutes walk. When you get out of the station, just walk towards the spire. You can't miss it, it looks like this:

  • Ah right, now I know what the spire looks like and where it is so if someone gets off the airport bus on O'Connell Street, which direction do they head to find the station?

depends which side of the road you get off lol! I don't know where in O'connell St the bus stops but assuming its facing O'Connell Bridge (is that the right name?) and down towards Trinity College, then you would turn left,
from memory its a street or two before Brown Thomas walks you straight down to the station entrance...........been a couple of years since I did it though

the airport bus stops at "The Gresham Hotel " in O'Connell Street .
Head towards the spire .There is a Kylemore cafe on the corner off O'Connell Street and Earl street North .Turn into Earl street North and the station is directly in front off you at the end off Talbot street .

  • Forgot to come back and post to say that the station was found thanks to all your directions and the timing couldn't have been better, as they arrived at the station the friend from Belfast came out of the station and all three ladies enjoyed their day in Dublin, thanks to Ryan Air!

Off to Dublin myself tomorrow :)
