Get rid of empty gas bottles.

I have a few empty gas bottles and wanted to know if they are accepted at scrap yards ??
I know i can take them to council waste site or to where i now buy them from ( they do not charge a deposit or anything ) but if i can get a bit of cash back then all the better. Might pay for new refill.

    I've been Money Tipped!
you could give them away on freecycle (a yahoo group) but don't know about scrap value ask at your scrap yard or council site.
  • I thought it would be pocket money to return 3 bottles I have, but....

It seems like the suppliers have a deposit system going, when they hardly ever pay back the deposit....

There is a message thread on the motorhomefun.co.uk website that seems to say it all - motorhomefun.co.uk/motorhome-chat/check for 3861-money-back-gas-bottles.html#post64855 under /motorhome-chat/
