Help re Virgin Credit Card...

Good afternoon

We have a Virgin credit card that is almost at its limit. My husband called them today to freeze interest and negociate lower payments for a couple of months while we get things straight (we have just seperated) and they refused on the basis we were not in trouble with the card and they will only do something when its been 3 months of missed or not minimum payments!

Any advice welcome...

That's madness! I'm not sure what to say with that one. I would put a request in writing and emphasise the fact that you are trying to deal with your situation before it gets out of control and that you would appreciate their co-operation.

It is always best to keep things in writing so you have proof of all correspondence.

Start making the payments you offer as soon as you can and stick to it so they can see you are upholding your end of the deal.
One step at a time ;)
  • With any company it is better to write and follow up with a SOA then they can see that you are doing what you say. I would also suggest that you start it with a reference to date and time of phone call as well.
Don't forget that cccs and the CAB also offer advice on this with template letters to send to your creditors.

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:
