Any tips for picking up cheap used magazines?

It occurred to me that people generally only read a magazine once and so I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites/groups/etc that dealt in 2nd hand/used magazines?
I live in Glasgow if anyone local knows of a shop that stocks cheap back issues.

Crikey, this takes me back to when all the newsagents used to reduce the "old" comics. We'd keep our eyes on that lower shelf every time we went in in case our favourites were there- sometimes going in especially to peek!
Good question though. I know when I was in hospital half the ward had bought the same magazine! What a waste, if we'd all discussed it, we could have all bought different ones, then swapped.Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -
Do you have a freeshare group in your area.We often have people offering magazines that they have finished reading.wendy x0

how old, & what magazine are you looking for?0

Have you tried your local car boot sale? I sell my old mags for about 30 or 40p for the ones that usually cost £3 or so
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Hi
Have a look in your local charity shops. That is where I take my old magazines.0 -
Have you tried your dentists waiting room?0

a lot of markets have 'magazine' stalls. I used to buy out-of-date mags in Yorkshire. There's one in Chelmsford, Essex too - it can't be a coincidence, there must be loads of them.0

ask on your local freecycle, you could either pick up some old mags, or end up finding someone who shares the same interests as you and arrange a swap0

you could always set something up - start mentioning it to friends and neighbours that you are interested in taking their old mags off them and perhaps in return they can swap with something you have collected that they have not read....although i would guess most would be happy to drop them off with you. you could even advertise in a few places - eg supermarkets, school newsletter, church...you could even agree to donating them on to your local GP surgery when you have finished!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Our local library has a "swap box", as long as you put in you can take out.0
