Can i cancel my 3 contract as i only took it out 3 days ago?

I just renewed my 3 mobile contract last friday and i want to know if i can cancel it monday morning as the phone i chose is faulty and after checking online it turns out the phone has a lot of problems. However, i need a full qwerty keyboard on the phone and 3 do not sell any other phones of that type.

Im hoping i can cancel. Do i get 14 days to cancel the contract or anything similar?

UPDATE: Went back to 3 store and they refused to cancel the contract despite it not becoming active until 17th September when my old contract runs out and the phone being faulty. Came home, phoned customer services and they said they cant override a decision made in a 3 store. Asked for a supervisor, got one eventually, asked for a Deadlock letter and they are getting back to me????

Is there anything more i can do? I am within my rights to jsut cancel the DD in the meantime?

I'm guessing the distance selling regulations come into play here. Unless you went into a shop to renew the contract.
  • Ring up customer services, say you are not happy with the service / reception, you wish to return the handset and cancel the contract asap.

They will try and "retain" you as a customer but it's perfectly within your rights, if you are genuinely dissatisfied with something.

i went into a store to get it as i was due an upgrade.
im not sure but i dont think my old contract has ran out yet for the new contract to have begun.
i think my old contract ends on 17th and new one starts 18th of this month, they just gave me the phone now cos i was due an upgrade.
does this mean i can cancel easily if i take the faulty phone back?

  • Stick the phone in the box along with anything they gave you, send it back to them via special delivery before your 14 day period expires, regardless of what they say yoiu have 14 days to change your mind, the only thing that would stop this is if you are still within your original contract period, in which case all you have to do is say here is the phone/sim etc I will not be renewing my contract, they cant force you, T mobile tried this with my mum, they lost!
