opaque tights

Is this in the right place? I couldn't find a fasion thread.

ASDA is selling opaque tights in bright colours & black at £1.50 a pair. This is lOTS cheaper that John Lewis or M & S. But I'#m a bit cautious about buying something cheap that doesn't even get through a day.

Anyone tried em? DId they fit? Stay up? Make it through the washing machine in one piece? Bleed colour onto your lovely ivory leather settee?

Hope someone knows if they're a true bargain - or just cheap.

    Don't know about Asda but I find Sainsburys tights are wonderful and last forever! Much better than any M&S ones I've bought. Worth a try at that price.

    Someone said putting tights in the freezer before wearing (let them warm up first!) makes them last longer? :confused:

    I have opaques that are 5 years old from M&S but often buy cheaper fashion ones from asda/tesco etc and am more then happy if they last a few months

    Opaque tights always last longer than 10 or 15 denier tights.

    They also hide any thread veins etc, so it's no wonder they seem to be long term fashionable and it's just the colours in fashion that change.

    I've bought plenty of opaques over the years and Asda are just as good as anyone else, and cheaper too.

    I would say find a pair that fits well and then go back and buy few pairs, it's like kids tights too - some makers have them long legged and skinny, others are short and fat for the stated size.

    LOL, now there's a thought! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I believe this tip was for sheer, but I BELIEVE its true - I don't wear sheer tights so I haven't tried it personally!
