E: 10/09 Win a Sony digital camera (email/post)

Observer Viewfinder comp. The prize is a Sony W170 digital camera, worth £219.

Forty-two percent of this city is covered in water, and the lakes, canals, streams and world-famous classical gardens give it an air of tranquillity not often found in this frenetic country. The city dates back more than 2500 years and was once a centre of silk production; it is still famous for its intricate embroidery. Name the city.

Ans - Suzhou, China (there is actually more than one - this one is in Jiangsu province, but it should suffice to say Suzhou)

I actually made it for me and the children - mr kateab doesn't eat pie cos he's wheat intolerant. However, he is waiting on a nice baked apple that is in the oven, for his pudding after the roast chicken that is currently resting!

PS and I went into the kitchen to find the apple had exploded in the oven..... it made mr kateab laugh anyway.
