Where do I stand now? Confused!

Hello all,
Bit confused so thought maybe someone on here would be able to clarify a few things for me. After being chased by DCA regarding a recent debt which had not been paid (through no fault of my own) but which I do acknowledge and take responsibility for, I decided it was time to sort out my previous bad debts and dismal credit file.
Basically I had a number of debts including a number defaults and two CCJ's, last payments were made in 2004 on a DMP which I could not continue with due to having to give up work (original debts were accrued 2000-2002). I decided that if I was going to pay off one I may as well find out who else I owe money to (afraid I have buried my head in the sand the past few years) and requested my CF's in order to establish my financial situation. Although there are searches that have been performed on my file by DCA's (Thames mainly it seems at regular intervals), all my debts including the CCJ's seem to have been wiped off.
Can anyone tell me where exactly I stand now? I am not disputing any debt that comes through now unless it is obviously not mine and am fully prepared to make payments should I need to when traced (as I no doubt will be) but are they able to make any further negative points against me on my file if they do not contact me and what does this mean with regards to my credit rating.
Sorry for the long post but really do not have a clue re this sort of thing and if my credit is clear now I would like to do my very best to keep it that way in future and not get myself into the silly mess I have found myself in the last nearly 10 years.
Many thanks!!!

I would keep head down and don,t apply for credit , debts over six years old are statue barred.0

I intend to stapeley - no worries there. Was just wondering tho what's to stop them just reapplying for another CCJ now or do they have to contact me first. Or if this means a clean slate for me, as i would def make payments if they come out of woodwork as really cannot afford another 6 years of terrible credit.Smoke Free since 03/08/20090

Debts becomes statute barred 6 years after the last payment was made or written acknowledgement of the debt.
If there is a CCJ, this supercedes the statute barred legislation.
However, if a CCJ has not been paid for 6 years they would need to reapply to the court for permission to pursue the debt and explain why they did not get payment in those 6 years. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110
