Ok....... feeling a little bit brave enough to post this in here now to see if anyone else feels the same :o:o but.............

is anyone else getting annoyed at things being bumped in the I won forum??? I mean, wins keep popping up from ages ago as people seem to feel the need to say well done to every single post in that forum that they have missed since they were last online!!

I know it is lovely to say well done and congrats etc and I love having a look to see what wins have been reported that day and congratulating everyone, but surely bumping pages of old wins is a bit OTT!!?? could people not stick to the last say 2 pages, and then just read through the older ones if they must, instead of bumping them all back up again by replying??

There are quite a few culprits (and I won't name names!!!), it has been going on for a while, but a lot worse recently! I am by no means saying don't say well done (before anyone takes this the wrong way and jumps down my throat!!!!), but please stop bumping all the older ones!!!

Anyone else noticed this??? or am I the only grumpy old lady in here!!!! :rotfl: :o

PS - I didn't say this to start a full scale thread debate, we've had far too many of those recently!!!!! just wondering if anyone else has noticed and are equally annoyed by little things like I am?? :o:p:D

I suddenly felt a bit bad about posting about the bumpers, and thought, perhaps I should do an Al Mac and delete it, only to find who should have replied but.......................

To be honest the I won doesn't bother me, as I rarely go there, because I don't win much.

It's the utterly, utterly pointless bumping of competitions, that annoys me. :)

I love the way you word things :rotfl: , I've quoted you so I can have a little chuckle next time some bumpers erm bump and annoy me!!!

Al Mac!!!!! :rotfl: I couldn't go around posting that anti bump smiley in the I won forum!! lmao!!!! I'd feel a right meanie!!! I do love it in the case of pointlessly bumped comps though, and wouldn't hesitate to use it then!!! :D

    Thanks T--J!! :T
  • The bumping in 'I won' doesn't bother me - I just find it funny that people go on autopilot posting the same thing in every post without reading it. It seems a bit impersonal somehow - sometimes someone will post a thread about not getting a prize they should have won and invariably someone comes along and posts 'Congrats :j ' which makes me chuckle!

A few months ago as an experiment I bumped a 2 year old post from the back of the I won forum, and it got over a page of 'well done's' without anyone noticing it was 2 years old. That really made me chuckle! :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • i had noticed a few people (including myself) had posted on some of the This Morning threads how entries were determined as I was wondering if I could enter for my other half, I have recieved this back from ITV yesterday (below)

have emailed them back to see if its the same for GMTV but it seems you can enter for partners as long as its a different number

We can confirm that the online entries are capped on the phone number only.

If the number of times the competition is entered is exceeded, you will see a message on the screen stating “Entry limit exceeded”. You will not be able to make any more entries for that competition, but the entries you have already made will still be valid.

We hope this answers your question.

    Kind Regards,

    ITV Customer Support

Many moons ago when it was 30 entries for the itv comps I posted under one that you could enter another 30 times if you changed the phone number. I didn't notice any replies, I thought peeps didn't agree with me so I stopped doing it. Will start again esp since its only 5 entries and my rsi has cleared up :rotfl: :rotfl:

Cheeky!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: that's funny!!!!! :p:p

Yes that is kind of what I mean, people seem to feel they have to say well done to everything that they have missed over the past week or whatever, and I have also noticed like you said how sometimes it is about something that hasn't arrived, or a fantastic prize they won but are upset they can't use and you'll see a well done, have fun! and a smiley face or something, and it proves they havn't read it at all!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

ETA: I don't mind a bit of bumping in there, it's inevitable, but it's just a bit excessive when a whole page of them from say a week or longer ago magically appears again!! and like cheeky said, it just seems a little impersonal aswell, anyway, problem solved now thanks to T--J's tip!!! :D
