Hi
Wonder if anyone can help – we had a visit form a bailiff today who didn’t leave any details just a number and will be calling back on Monday ,
I think it is for one of two things a debt for electric for our old rented house which was a prepayment meter yet they wanted to charge us £500 a year later we have been trying to fight this as i was spending £10 a week on electricity ( 3 years ago ) and couldn’t see how in a one bed flat i could run up this debt on a prepaid ...however ... it went to debt collections no one will help so it could be to do with this or
And insurance premium we cancelled it as sold car but they still waited full payment we didn’t pay as couldn’t understand why fully payment only had policy 3 months ... so likely to be around £600
... now here’s my question we have a joint IVA have done for 2 years now ... and have been trying to live a debt free life of course apart from tis IVA ... now could a bailiff demand payment for the above .... when we are entered into an IVA not inc this debts as we didn’t have them at the time .. i mean i was thinking would a court see the above as priority over the £20k we owe out to other companies
We don’t’ owe council tax or rate or anything ... just so worried as we are just making the mortgage payments at the moment only just keeping our heads above water ... so not sure what right i do or don’t have
We can make a small payment to the above debts but only so much as £5 each per week MAX
Any advised would be most welcomed
