Indeed so, the negligence of the old pre-FSA regulators in protecting policyholders' interests at With-profits funds is quite astonishing

AMP took it to the high court though who ruled in favour of AMP overuling the regulator at that time.

Eq Life is worst, Nat Prov Life is next. Pearl prop up NPI by using Pearl profits to keep the NPI side solvent, rather than pay them to the policyholders.

AMP's management of UK life business was truely disgraceful.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have sent a letter to the IFA and shall see what response (if any) i get.

Wih hindsight, I should have probably kept it going, as it would have acted a savings plan, but then hindsight is always with 20/20 vision.
  • That's so true. As long as you have some insurance put in its place to cover illness/sickness and death! How morbid!

When I took out my two low-cost endowment policies, I was undecided whether to choose London Life or Eq. Life - thank God I choose the latter. although it fell to AMP, they left it pretty well untouched and indeed had to boost the support in the end, probably with Pearl's money! The decision was pure luck however.

Glad you wrote yr letter, Gadfium, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
