Working out Holiday hours due

Hi,
I hope this is in the right section.
I had a look on the BERR website but its a bit confusing for me.
My work has their holidays from the 01.04.08 - 31.03.09
I started on the 3.06.08 on a 20 hour contract until the 24.08.08, when I downgraded to a 16 hour contract so the 25.08.08 until the 31.03.09.
Now my contract of employment says that we get 4 weeks holiday per year.
I thought the minimum was 4.8 weeks.
Could someone tell me how many hours I am due for
A. the 20 hours
B. the 16 hours
as a 4 week entitlement and the 4.8 weeks.

You're right that it's 24 days now, but that includes bank holidays.
Were your bank holidays on top of those four weeks?
How many hours does a full-timer work?
And / or how many days per week do you work?
If you want to work it out yourself in days, divide 24 (the minimum) or 28 (if it's 20 days PLUS bank holidays) by 12. If you worked five days per week all through, multiply that answer by the number of months you worked 20 hours, and you have that many days of 20 hours. And so on.
If you didn't work five days per week, you need to divide by 5 and multiply by the number of days you work.

A full timer works 35 hours but the highest contract my employer gives out is 16 hours ( i only work my contracted 16 hours)
It can vary between 4 days ,3 days and 2 days
I would need to calculate it in hours as that is how they work.
What can I say to them regarding my contract only stating 4 weeks.

You can tell them that the Working Time Regulations changed on 1 October 2007 to increase the statutory minimum holiday to 4.8 weeks.
BTW it is also increasing again - to 5.6 weeks - from the start of their next holiday year (April 2009).0 -
yeah I told my manager that in a grievance meeting I had with her today due to 14 hours being unlawfully taken from my wages (another matter , but sorted now) and she said no its only 4 weeks!!
Bet she doesnt even realise I will get holiday entitlements when I am off for 9 months on maternity leave ..
But I really need to know the hours , I am sadly too daft to work it out lol.0 -

Though it doesn not seem fair, it may be that the 16 hours is what will be counted as your working week so the 20 hours a week period will make no difference to your holiday, the extra 4 hours were just overtime.
So 16 hours a week is what we will work with. Multiply that by 4.8 to get the number of hours in a full year. That equals 76.8 hours.
You now have to work out what you would be due in the period from 3 June 2008 up to 31 March 2009, which I reckon to be 43 weeks. So 76.8 hours divided by 52 weeks multiplied by 43 equals 63.5 hours for the remainder of the holiday year.
You must use 4.8 weeks as the basis because that is the law. Try the informal approach and if that doesn't work, you can go through the formal grievance route. That should sort it out. If it doesn't you can put in a claim to an ET.0 -

I had a signed 20 hour contract and now have signed 16 hours one .
So surely I am entitled to my 20 hour holiday entitlement?0 -

manager has 35 hours
supervisors have 25 hours
2 of us (including me) have 16 hours
and the rest have 8 hour contracts
up until end of august I had a 20 hour contract but downgraded due to college.
my other colleagues all do between 20 and 35 hours a week, even though they are only on a low houred contract.
I on the other hand stick to my contracted hours0 -
In that case, do the sum I did for just 4 hours (the difference) just for the weeks when you worked 20 hours.0
