Top of the best buy table is the Russell Hobbs Ceylon 13355, £18.98 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-13355-Ceylon-stainless-capacity/dp/B000IHYSB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1220610720&sr=8-1). Personally I don't like stainless steel kettles, as the reviewer of the above says they get too hot to touch, especially the lid IMHO. They also show up fingermarks a lot. Many of the Which best buys are stainless steel. The best plastic kettle in the list was the Kenwood JK770 but it seems a little difficult to get hold of (Which say it is £22.50 from the Kenwood Kitchen Store). We plumped for the Cookworks Signature White Illuminated (catalogue no 422/9492 from Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001151&langId=-1&searchTerms=4229492) which was also a best buy but only £14.99.
