you may have already answered this and I've just missed it, but can you say why you pay rent and mortgage?

Council tax............................. 138
If apying over 10 months can you ask to pay it over 12?
Mobile phone............................ 45
PAYG?
Groceries etc. ......................... 320
Should be able to cut this down. Have a look at the old style board for meal plans etc. Have you moved down a brand (shops own)
Clothing................................ 100
Should be able to at least half this
Entertainment........................... 400
There should be a limit to the amount of "networking" you do. Is it not possible to attend corporate events rather than nights out?
Might also be worth keeping a spending diary so you can see where any extra money is going. If you buy coffee etc rather than making your own, that could be £1k a year or more. Same with bringing your lunch in to the office. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I've just spoken to 02 and they've reduced my tarif - the entertainment costs are high and I know and I'm sad to say that thats made up from about just 3 nights out a month - I need to reduce them, problem I have is most of that is work related entertainment that I really need to get involved in, but can't claim back from work (its complicated!!) but that said I know that spending £125-£150 on a night out with nothing much to show in material terms is a huge waste, not to mention the damage my liver is getting!!
HI there,
I can understand that you need to go out on these 'work related' nights out for your job but can you not come up with things like 'I was out last night and had a few drinks so I think I'll give alcohol a miss and stick to I don't know a diet coke/j20 etc' or I'm cutting down on alcohol what with christmas around the corner - its hard to not drink at social 'do's' in december - I'm not feeling 100% great - these are things I've come up with in the past and then of course my final lasted for 9 months - I'm preganant! - not suggesting you use that one mind you - I think you'd get some funny looks!!!!!:rotfl:
All the best

I found the demotivator worked well - found out I was working for 6 weeks a year to pay for fizzy drinks, crisps, chocs, meals out etc...
Also try and get a better deal on contents - perhaps use quidco. I was paying £54 a month for buildings and contents, now only paying £24 for both.. Is yours for both?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
