Help!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the board and have just started to do comps and I have just received a letter in the post saying I have won a prize to the value of £3750.It was sent registered mail. The problem is, I have no idea what comp I have won or if it is a scam - as I just went on their website and it is for holiday ownership. How does everyone keep track of what comps they enter?

Thanks for you help!!! Hopefully it is all legit!!

sounds like a timeshare you would have to pay out on. i would bin it.

Hi and welcome!!!

If I were you I would do a search for the company name on this forum and see if anything comes up. There is a thread on here of competition scams and a lot of them are for holidays/timeshares, I have had phone calls and the odd letter myself.

I got one of these through the post a few weeks ago, so did a few others. Its a timeshare scam I'm afraid

It's not as if you can bring up a list of all the people you've thanked though is it, you will only know if you've entered by going back through every post and checking the thanks button.

I would say this is a scam, but by all means pursue it if you like, just stop if they ask for any money! Real comps wouldn't do that!

You wouldn't have to go back through every post, just simply do a search for the company or comp your looking for and see if the thanks button has been clicked on that 1 thread.

I only use the thanks button and it works great for me, you can also subscribe to threads, this shows a blue tick next to the comps you have entered so no need to go into the thread

Thanks everyone for your help. It is a scam - gutted! I have another question, I log in and when I do my comps, I click on the thank button but it only says I have thanked 1 person on my profile - what am I doing wrong? Do I have to do a post to thank for it to register?

No - that is how many times YOU have been thanked

oh ok thats my way of knowing ive entered a competition bit different than tracking
other people are different and more organised
some write down everything some use excel or word to document it all but to me thats a bit too regimental

i have a good memory also so rely on that
