My husband has a debt management plan with them to pay of his two debts one to RBS and one to First Response Finance Limited.. On Tuesday i recieved a call from Hillside Services Limited chasing the First Response Finance debt. I called Byrom and Keeley and explained he chould not be being harrased by DCA as he was paying through them and as they charge a 17% fee per payment they should have sorted this out they said they would call them and explain he was on a debt management plan and to deal with them from now on. It now turns out that for the past 6 months Byrom and Keeley have been paying the completly wrong company First Choice Credit Limited and the wrong account number so hes been paying off someone elses loan for 6 months all they would say is sorry and they will get the money back and pay to the correct account however this debt has now been sod on to Hillside and therefore increased due to their stupidness. What can i do dont know how much more stress i can take right now!! x

Well done to actually tracking this down. Sounds more like a detective story than a debt managment arrangment.

I suggest you write to Hillside, registered post and tell them what has happened.

Please please can you then get hold of OH by the scruff of his neck and get him to talk to CCCS about moving his debt management plan across to them so he is paying his debts, not their fees.

And then write a formal complaint to B&K demanding compensation to cover the increased costs and the time you have had to spend sorting out the mess.

Unless you get a satisfactory response, then up the stakes and compain to the Consumer Credit Association, the OFT and FO.

I completely back RAS's advice to go to one of the free charity organisations such as CCCS. When you're in debt, the last thing you need is to be paying people to pay your debts, especially when they're the wrong ones!

Within the complaint regarding increased costs, you should also ask for a refund of what you've been paying them as they have not done their job at all.
One step at a time ;)
