    IKEA Competition Terms and Conditions

Rules: 1. Guess or attempt to calculate the total price of all the priced products highlighted as “new” in the IKEA 2009 Catalogue (the "Products") for a chance to win, at the winner's choice, either all the Products or a gift voucher or gift vouchers equal to the value of the correct answer.

    2. Any products highlighted as "new" but which are not priced in the IKEA 2009 Catalogue do not form a part of this competition for the purpose of guessing the total price.
    3. Though each Product may be featured more than once in the IKEA 2009 Catalogue, each Product should only be counted once using the price shown on the first page it appears in the IKEA 2009 Catalogue. Any variations in size or colour of a Product should, however, be considered as another new product and should be counted separately or in addition (but only the first time any such variation in colour or size appears in the Catalogue).
    4. When including and calculating new flooring and fabric products in accordance with rules 1 to 3 above, these new products should be calculated on the basis of: i) in the case of flooring, the price per pack and; ii) in the case of fabric, the price per (one) meter.
    5. In addition to guessing or attempting to calculate the total price of the Products, each person entering must also answer the tie-breaker question. The tie-breaker question is part of the on-line entry form but for the avoidance of doubt is: "IKEA's current advertising slogan is 'Home is the most important place in the world'. In no more than 10 (ten) words, what do you think the next IKEA advertising slogan should be?" (the "Tie-Breaker Question").
    Terms and Conditions:
    1. The IKEA Catalogue Challenge Promotion from IKEA (the "Promotion") runs from September 4 to September 28 2008 inclusive (the "Promotion Period"). The Promotion is open to UK and Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 or over (the "Participants"), excluding employees and their families of IKEA Ltd, its agents, or anyone professionally connected with this promotion. The promotion is not open to residents of the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is 23:59 on September 28 2008.
    2. Entry into the Promotion is limited to one per person, and per email address / household. Any Participant attempting multiple entries will be removed from the Promotion. The Participant must complete their details in full following the instructions on the Promotional submission form on the website. In the event of any winning Participant being disqualified, the winner will be determined (in accordance with these Rules and Terms and Conditions) from all remaining Participants who have validly entered (and who are not disqualified).
    3. No purchase necessary.
    4. The Promotion can only be entered online via the website at http://www.ikea.co.uk or http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/ from there competition entrants enter a separate site at http://www.ikeacataloguecompetition.co.uk . A Participant's entry shall only be validly submitted if it is submitted in accordance with these Rules and Terms and Conditions and if IKEA's (or IKEA's agent's) records show that the entry has been received by IKEA (or IKEA's agent). There is one prize of either IKEA vouchers equal in value to the correct answer to the question posed in the competition or, if the winner so notifies IKEA in writing within one week of notification of winning, all the Products (one of each and being the subject of this competition and which have a combined price which is the correct answer to the competition question). Please note that the winner, if he or she elects to take the Products as the prize, will have to pay for their delivery in accordance with the then applicable IKEA normal delivery rates. If any of the Products is out of stock or otherwise unavailable, IKEA reserves the right to substitute such Product for another product of equal or greater value.
    5. If the winner chooses to receive the Products, these Products will be delivered (with normal delivery costs at the cost of the winner and provided the winner has paid for such delivery costs) by November 11 2008 to the winner at the winner's address in the UK or Republic of Ireland and as shown in the entry form. If the winner chooses to receive the Products, IKEA will notify the winner of the delivery charges which will be payable; if the winner does not wish to pay these delivery charges, the winner may within one week of notification of the delivery charges notify IKEA in writing that he or she chooses to receive the vouchers instead, in which case the IKEA vouchers will be provided to the winner by November 11 2008 or, if later, 7 days after the winner notifies IKEA that he or she wishes to receive the vouchers. If the winner does not choose to receive the Products within one week of notification of winning, the IKEA vouchers will be provided to the winner by November 11 2008. IKEA's delivery of the prize in the times stated shall be subject to the winner being available (and, if applicable, providing the necessary space) to receive the prize.
    6. The IKEA Vouchers shall be valid up until and including 31 May 2010 and can be redeemed for any products available in-store in an IKEA store in the UK or, if an IKEA store is open in the Republic of Ireland at the time that the vouchers are redeemed, in the Republic of Ireland. Please note that the IKEA vouchers cannot be redeemed online or in exchange for any delivery costs or services provided by IKEA and that any redemption in-store is strictly subject to availability of stock.
    7. Subject to paragraph 8, the prize will be won by the Participant that has correctly answered the competition question, or in the event of no correct answers, the Participant who is closest to the correct answer.
    8. In the event that there are two or more Participants with a correct entry, the winner will be determined using such Participants' answer to the Tie-Breaker Question (that all Participants must answer upon entering the Promotion). If there is no correct entry and in the unlikely event that two or more Participants have entries that are equally closest to the correct answer the winner will again be determined using such Participants' answer to the Tie-Breaker Question. If answers to the Tie-Breaker Question are to be used to determine the winner, an independent judge will determine which of the answers to the Tie-Breaker Question (from all correct entries, or equally closest to correct entries, as applicable) he or she considers to be the best and the Participant whom the independent judge deems has the best answer shall be the winner of the prize. The independent judge's decision shall be final.
    9. All intellectual property created by or contained in any Participant's answer to the Tie-Breaker Question shall be owned by IKEA and the Participant's answer may be used by IKEA in any advertising or promotions for IKEA or in any other manner that IKEA sees fit.
    10. The prize is non-negotiable (except in so far as the winner has a choice between vouchers and the Products as stated in paragraph 4 above), non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash or credit alternatives will be given. Should the prize become unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute prize or prizes of equivalent value.
    11. The Promoter’s decision is final in all respects. No correspondence will be entered into.
    12. The winner will be contacted by post, e-mail or by telephone within 4 weeks of the closing date.
    13. The winner's name and county and country of residence, and the correct answer, will be available by telephone request on (from the UK, including Northern Ireland) (+44) (0)845 3583364 or (from the Republic of Ireland) 1890 987939 for 3 months following the end of the Promotion Period. Calls from land lines will be charged at local call rates. Call rates from mobile phones may vary – please check with your service provider for applicable rates.
    14. Promoter: IKEA Ltd., Registered Office: 21 Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2DY, Registered in England, No. 1986283
    15. The winner may be required to participate in publicity related to this Promotion.
    16. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Promotion in total or in part at any time in the event of proven or suspected fraudulent misuse of the online system used for the Promotion or other significant technical or legal issues beyond the control of the Promoter.
    17. The Promoter will not pass Participants' personal details to any other organisation without their permission, except for the purposes of running this Promotion.
    18. By entering the competition, Participants have accepted and agreed the Promoter's privacy policy at http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/privacy_policy/privacy_policy.html and have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
    19. This agreement is governed: i) for Participants entering from Northern Ireland, by the laws of Northern Ireland; ii) for Participants entering from the UK (excluding Northern Ireland), by the laws of England ; or iii) for Participants entering from the Republic of Ireland, by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. I can't see too well on the PC so gave up and will guess I think :p

I was in IKEA a few days ago... only bought some green and clear glass bottles for my bathroom though as we were there to buy a Sofa for my dad.

I love it too, but my little girl fell forward in the trolley and ended up with a nosebleed.. and the twins weren't too impressed with being stuck in the pram... so we made a swift exit!

Awww, the poor ikkle mite! My little one gets a bit bored after a while in there too, mind you I can easily spend a few hours wandering around! :o

It should work out at quite a fair amount though! :D

I gave up looking through catalogue, was scribbling things down but filled an A4 sheet and not even halfway through book! You probably have just as much chance getting it right guessing. It's a nightmare trying to figure out what to include for different ranges, what colours, sizes, do I include the legs on sofa's, slatted bases etc! It's making my brain ache! :o

I'll just win the Euro Lotto tomorrow instead! :p :rotfl:

If you sign up for the Ikea Family club, they send you a copy of catalogue out free! ;):D

Some of the family offers aren't bad actually. They have local 'instore' offers each month too, ours had a dining suite half price last month.

Oh I got that too, forgot all about that! I've actually had a couple of them. It is worth signing up for. I get free tea or coffee & certain meal offers if I show my card instore too. Which is just as well, the amount of time I spend in there! :o
