Can they stop my pension if I find work?

Hi
I know someone who was pensioned off from their last place of work after a long spell on sick with ankylosing spondylitis (back problem).
Since he finished working there, he's since had treatment for his back problem, and feels can start looking for light work again. His back problem is better but will never be completely right.
He'd like to know if his works pension will be affected if he takes on a part time job?
Thanks

AFAIK if he was retired on health grounds and he is under retirement age and then gets a job doing the same work, I think his works pension can be stopped (although it will be there for him when he reaches retirement age).
If he gets a job doing something else entirely, it will not affect his pension, as far as I know, although it will be counted for income tax purposes.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
It would depend on the scheme rules.Trying to keep it simple...0

HI
Thanks both for your replies.
He worked in the Facilities dept where he changed bulbs, office moves - the lot. The work he's looking is possibly driving light lorry etc..avoiding anything strenuous.
Ive advised that the best may be to check the policy details to find out exactly what he can and cant do.
Much appreciated.
