Home heating oil removal south of the border?

Hi Folks,
A friend of mine has some rented houses in the Republic which were kitted out with home heating oil. He now wants to have the heating oil removed (no, nothing dodgy!).
Can the oil be cheaply transported (say like if you were moving house) or do you think there's any chance a local company could be persuaded to buy it?
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks,
BatCat

to move hazardous waste technically you need a waste carriers licence (thats what they will class oil as - hazardous) and to move it cross border you're entering the realms of a whole other can of worms...........doesn't stop people emptying it into oil drums and sticking it in the back of a van though even if its technically illegalNorn Iron Club Member #64

I have rented houses for years, normally the amount in the tank is agreed and written into the tenancy and it must be at the same level when leaving,0

The oil has very little 'commercial' value as it could be contaminated with water etc. ........difficult to sell on again 'officially'
I'm sure some people would siphon it out at their risk if they were getting it for free0 -
Hi Folks,
Ahhh... a whole can of worms!
Best really then trying to persuade someone else to buy it then, possibly the new tenants.
Cheers,
