Please can someone give me some advice?

Hello,

I have been getting along for the last few months by the skin of my teeth. I have not missed any payments or payed anything late so far on anything but I can forsee probs if I cant get something sorted. I wanted to apply for a loan to clear my credit cards and my WFTC overpayment but was refused. I checked my credit file and it tells me I am on the poor end of the credit scale. Checking further I have found that British Gas have put a defaulted account thing on my credit file for £195. I called BG and they told me this was a final payment that was from a place I lived 3 years ago. I payed them the money using the last bit of credit on my credit card and am currently looking into this as I am damn sure I already paid them.

I decided that it would be better to try and get a loan for just £1000 which would clear my WFTC overpayment. They are currently taking £100 a month off me and if I can reduce that it might free up just the little bit of cash I need. The WFTC wont reduce the payments because in their eyes I am covering all my bills even with paying them £100 a month but that leaves me with about £40 a month spare after paying everything. With 2 kids and travel to work etc its hard to get through the month on just £40, theres always something one of them needs, not to mention the OH.

I guess my question is does anyone know of anywhere who would genuinly lend me money even though my credit score isnt good? I see lots of companies who promise they will but I dont want to make a mistake which could end up costing me more. Or if anyone has any other advice I would be grateful.

    Hiya hun

Sorry to hear of these problems you are undergoing at present.

Now regarding the WFTC is that with Child tax or without?

I would make sure the overpayments in the first place was not caused by themselves and not you.

I would request of a breakdown of how they calculated this over the last few years.

Maybe your local CAB can help you through this and deal with this for you and maybe contact these companies for you also to resolve this, because you don't really want to go into any further debt problems hunni.

I have been there and I know its very stressful.

Also write to BG and ask them for a breakdown hun, see what is what, this can be worked out, you have every right to request this.

I do hope this gets sorted out and there is help out there, give your local CAB a ring or call in, I'm sure they will be able to get you through all this, as they deal with issues like this everyday.;)

    Good luck!
