New RAM won't work
catch22

I have now tried two compatible RAM modules but neither work in my Toshiba Satellite S1800-504. I have two slots but when placing either of the new ones into my laptop it refuses to work the hard drive, even with the old working one in at the same time nothing happens. Have put them in separately to see if they work but no, any ideas welcome.

How do you know they are compatible?
How big are they - have you checked to see the amount of memory your laptop can support?
Have you got the most recent BIOS update?Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
1) Checked with the retailer/s first before buying.
2) Have two slots which can hold up-to 512mb, at the moment my machine is surviving on 128mb which is far too low.
3) Bios checked using Belerec
Just no luck..catch220 -
erm...tell me it wasn't PC World you checked with?! (might just be a personal Bias)
Check out the exact spec you need by contacting Toshiba, a slight difference could be causing your problems.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0
