Got my first DD cancellation letter

Since we signed up with CCCS, got it from Egg this morning. Do I just need to ignore it? Also, does anyone knoe what time in the evening creditors are allowed to phone you til? I had someone (think it was littlewoods) ringing at almost 9 o clock last night. I know it's not late but I think it's the latest one I've had. I'm just ignoring numbers I don't recognise too, is that the norm?? Thanks for reading my early morning ramblings!!

Hi Markey,
Just file away the DD letter, so long as your are with cccs, the standard notification of DMP which you will send (cccs template) includes a statement that you have cancelled all your DD's and requesting them not to try to DD your account again.
I think calls are allowed from 8am-9pm, in the early days they will make full use of the entire time but it should start to settle down once the cccs message gets through. From what I've seen on other threads, most people recommend you don't speak to them by phone as you will have no written record of anything. And you really don't need the extra stress!
Personally, I haven't answered a single call since one of them phoned me at work - even though I refused to answer their security questions and got out quickly, I was so stressed out it affected my work so I promised myself not to get caught out again! It's important you can feel you are in control of all this, and manage everything your way.:D
Good luck with it all!

Hi Marky,
Can't help with the CCCS thingy but with regards to telephone calls, there is a standard letter which you can send to all your creditors (you probably already know this anyway) so sorry for the ramble, asking them to delete your telephone number and all correspondence must be in writing - if you can't find it, let me know.

Thank you both. We have, for the moment just turned the volume on the phone down! If anyone that we actuallt know rings us, we can just ring them back. Bear in mind that it's only day 2 of the phone calls, so might need the standard letter template thingy yet lol!Starting DMP with CCCS 1st October 2008

Mmm, I thought that too!!!, until I started getting anything up to 10 calls a day, HSBC were particularly vile. I never answered them anyway, but keep everything in a papertrail, send recorded delivery, which is what I did, and believe you me, there has been times when I've had to call upon them!.
Good luck with everything.
