Filter Coffee 50p for 500g in Asda

Don't know if this is nationwide, but today they had Caffe Crema Selezione filter coffee at the end of an aisle, 500g packet for 50p. They had loads, with a sticker saying it had been £1, but was now 50p. It's in a green foil packet with red and silver stripes
Haven't tried it yet.
I've never seen it before there, and there was none in the regular coffee section

It's probably just because the BBE date is very short - Asda reduced loads of 'Le Caf' to 50p last week because it had a BBE date of Aug 08, but it tasted perfectly fine to me.

I bought a packet when it was £1 it tastes fine, but it is quite weak and you need to use more than other coffees

Sell by date is 05/09. Went back today to get some more, as no one noticed the difference this morning.

Still £1 a pack at the Asda I visited today so obviously the reduction hasn't been applied nationwide

sat 13th and still 50p. (display stated 100p but checkout price was 50p)
got 2kilos for 200p. considering I saw tesco value coffe at almost 500p per kilo - I'd say that this is a massive give away! Coffee is mild with no aftertaste or bitterness and is just fine black - imho
Even if doubled up on measure per serving still not come even close to what gotta pay for even 100g of ground coffee and so called good coffee ya gotta pay over 200p per 100g...
Anyway few cuppas a day [they say] is good for the ol ticker so can't be bad

Thanks for the heads up - I found this at Asda Thurmaston, clearly labelled 50p. Thought it might do for DS heading back to uni, taking my spare cafetiere !!! - cheek of him !!

I get my Douwe Egberts 250g in Home & Bargains for £1 a pack, they usually have fairly long shelf life, ones I bought last week are dated 2009. They normally have plenty in stock.

Lots of this stripey coffee at 50p in Asda llansamlet yesterday. BBE date wasn't until 2009, but some ofthe vacuum-packs were damaged and the contents were loose, so make sure you search for the rock-hard vacuum-sealed packs.
