I would like enough money for them to be able to travel - but then I did that off my own back once I was working, so no doubt they will as well..

You've probably just described my daughters fantasy life:o
Shes a real girly girl & she loves "things", sparkly things. She loves Tiffany & diamonds & designer sunglasses with bling & designer bags & Thomas Sabo & links of London stuff & shoes & ugg boots & sparkly shoes & sandals & posh coats, beauty treatments, french manicures, hair dos, etc etc ect Oh & clothes:rolleyes:
Shes a lovely girl, shes the best daughter in the world, but shes "high maintenance":rotfl: I don't know where she gets it from:o
The great outdoors & free things hold no appeal for her, but each to their own, be a very boring world if we were all the same.0 -

i find because i buy all year when i see offers/sales, i lose track of how much i spend, and then by the time christmas gets here, they want other things and i end up spending more! but i do try to get them the same amount of presents as appose to spending the same. Gonna have a month old baby at christmas so haven't spent as much on him! i put about £200-£250 as a guess!Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok

I had planned on spending about £300 each on them (they are 15,12 and 8) but as the main present they have got each is £300 il end up spending a lot more as Im a tinker for wanting a huge impact when they open that door on xmas morning, I like the santas grotto effect and gasps. So probably spend another £300 in total on lots of things to wrap up.Then theres new jarmys dressing gowns and slippers, party outfits, and xmas eve at the Theatre. It all adds up BUT I wouldnt do it if it meant getting into debt, I dont have any debt and work EXTREMELY hard all through the peak months to put money away to ensure xmas is fab for all concerned. That is the best xmas present I could get, seeing everyones faces with thier lovely suprises. Then they go to thier dads for another xmas on Boxing Day and do it all again, he probably spends about £250 each on them.
My parents used to do exactly the same when we were kids and I wanted the same hype for mine. Im a very christmassy person though and have a tree in every room and christmas songs playing and plan my table settings and everything to perfection.
Each to thier own I suppose lol.0 -
We plan to spend very little on our son £30 - 40 for everything, some things will be preloved. He will get presents from friends and family as well but nobody goes over the top. We are not in debt and plan to stay this way. I realise that as he gets older this will increaseFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I have 2 children, aged 2 and 5. I spent £151 - £200 on each child. I made the most of Woolworths toy sale in October and got toys they wanted that had been reduced and were on 3 for 2 which saved us quite a bit of money. I've only got their stocking fillers left to buy.
For the rest of the family, I am making hampers to reduce the cost of Christmas this year, I'm using some of the tips I've found on this site for inspiration for the hampers!May Wins: Annual Merlin Premium Pass, Annabel Karmel Bowl and Masher
June Wins: 4x Olympic Torch Relay Leeds City Celebration tickets,
July Wins: Family Photoshoot with free print, Hexbug Spiral Starter Set0 -
Its great when there small - big toys not too expensive.
But now its - small gifts that cost a fortune!
And you look at the pile and say "that doesnt look much" even though it may have cost a small fortune!0 -
I usually spend about £130 - £180 on each child (9 and (almost) 3). But this year we've had a redundancy, lower paid jobs, huge bills to pay, and big old mortgage payments to consider, so things are considerably tighter now!
I'm aiming for £60 for each child this year, and home made hampers filled with small token gifts and home made goodies for everyone else!0 -
I usually spend £50-60 on my 3 boys. But this year im cutting back! for my youngest 2, i have only spent £30 this year, all their gifts were 342 so it looks like iv'e spent more:)
My eldest wants a video game which i can get with my ipoints, so thats my gang sorted:)
I have a large family so my lads get loads from the relatives, and they never think they are hard done by.0
