advice please

Hello,
Have only posted once before but really need some advice.
The last few years have been really hard with family illness and deaths I am single and after looking after realitives through illness had to move in to rented accomadation. I work full time in a fairly low paid job. Have managed to get in to debt with several credit cards and one loan due to not really being able to afford the rent. have ended up paying one card with another and I cant do it any more.
Have managed to find cheaper accomadation now but I know something has got to change.
I have opened a new bank account and done cccs debt remerdy was really scared and upset to see every thing down in black and white. they reccomend bancrupcy or low start dmp. realy dont want bancrupcy as it might effect my job and any way would like to pay off my debts.
It would take almost sixteen years to pay at the rate cccs recommend. Could any one offer any advice please?
would creditors except low start dmp or would they push me in to bancrupcy?
would they carry on ringing me? would they stop or reduce interest?
I really dont know what to do. I would try to pay as much as I could to reduce time of dmp.
My health has not been great due to depression and all this worry is making things worse. Although I have not missed any payments on ccs yet have been late a couple of times and they start ringing, even ringing me at work which is causing me trouble as I am not supposed to have personal calls at work and I have asked them not to ring me there but they still keep doing it.
Any advice please. is there a minimum payment cc companys will except? surely its better to try to pay something than going bancrupt?

    welcome

We need a bit more information.

In particular, how many years are we talking about? And what sort of debts?

And what sort of amount of money?

And by the way, there is a letter that you can send demanding that they remove your work number from their records and that they write to you.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Thanks for reply, 4 credit cards and 1 loan. on cccs calculation would take just under 16 years to pay back on dmp. 25k at moment. would try to pay more if and when circumstances allow. Looking for second job at moment and cutting down on what I can. not behind on rent ct etc. Really dont want bancrupcy if i can avoid it.
Have always paid my bills on time but last five years have been very difficult.
    Thanks
