I'm off to search the mega thread for inspiration, but thought I'd pick your brains as well.
Got £10 of a £30 shop at Tescos for next 2 weeks. We've stocked up the freezer using this for the last couple of weeks and now have a full freezer/tin cupboard.
We only really need vegetables and a little bit of lamb, which won't come to £30. Any ideas of what I could stock up on? I usually spend about £35 a week, but have got much less to buy this week.
If it's any help, we need super quick meals this week. Less than 1/2 hour meals. We ordered a sofa on Saturday thinking we'd have a few weeks to decorate the lounge, but it's being delivered on Friday morning! So it's all hands to the deck!

I don't know about quick meal ideas, if you've already filled your freezer/tin cupboard, but are all your other staples max's out? Things like rice, flour, dried fruits. Then, as it's Xmas soon, can you buy stuff you would be doing anyway, but now - drink is the best one to pile on the £'s (and lbs
)
I always get my online deliveries to bring heavy stuff, like 10 cartons each of the various fruit juices as well as bulky stuff like loo rolls.0 -
I was going to say booze too - stock up now for Christmas! You could also buy sweets, biscuits etc. You could do some Xmas shopping there - CDs, DVDs, toys etc.0

Never thought of drink. That's a good point. I guess as I'm used to saving my standard tescos vouchers for them - no reason why I couldn't buy them now - and get even more money off
I'm not buying dried fruit anymore unless I have a specific use for it - I end up eating handfuls straight out the bagNew year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -
I agree with stocking up on the chrimbo stuff. Booze is always a good oneComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

Look at https://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk if you click on Tesco's it will list their current promotions including any booze/getting ready for Christmas items.
Normally I click on the promotions column to make it list in promotion type order, that way you get the BOGOF's and other promotions grouped together, I find it easier that way to spot the best buys.
Edit - forgot to say, if you're stocking up on wine, if you buy 6 bottles you normally get an extra 5% discount.
With so many things on Christmas promotion, you might be better sorting by category if you use fixture ferrets.0 -
if you have a bread maker why dont you buy Tesco crusty white farmhouse bread mix,i always have a few packs in for when i am in hurry ,1 cup of water,350g of bread mix and its ready to switch on,you can also add 1/2 cup of dried fruit a tsp of mixed spice and it makes a great fruit loaf,only 52p a pack by changing the amounts of mix you can get 3 loaves for £1.04........0
