Cheap Beer?

Does anyone know which supermarkets currently have the best deals on crates of beer/lager? I can get to Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys fairly easily...

  • Have a look at this site - just put what you want in the search box and it will give you prices from Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda

  • Hi 8T8! Morrisons are doing 24 Carlsberg for £10.98 at the moment or 18 for £10.!?!

  • Hiya,

After drinking Stella Artois for longer than he cares to remember (or is it that he just can't remember  ) my DH came across 'Tesco Imported Premium Lager Continental Strength' at £7.49 for 12 cans (alc 5% vol).

Now, as a seasoned Stella drinker (or should that be pickled  ), he can hardly tell the difference between the two......

Fair enough, but the Tesco Imported Premium Lager works out at 62p per can / £1.41 per litre / 81p per pint.

While this is a good price, especially as it is imported, there is nearly always a better deal for premium strength lager available. For example, right now at Sainsbury's, Grolsch Lager 20 x 440ml cans is £10.65. This works out at 53p per can / £1.21 per litre / 69p per pint.

Tesco have a few good deals on at the moment.

They've got John Smiths ale at £6.00 for 10x440ml cans and £10.00 for pack of 15x440ml cans. Also Stella Artois stubbies are 10x 250ml for £4.88 and stella 10x330ml £6.00.

That's very true - but some people only like a particular brand of lager and a particular taste, and the point I was trying to make is that the Tesco Imported lager tastes almost exactly the same as Stella but for half the price.

Plus, this isn't a deal - it's how much it always is ;)
