Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me. My dad is/was in remission from cancer but has taken ill again, we dont know until friday if its cancer but he is spending a lot of time in bed ill anyway.
He keeps complaining that he is falling asleep and missing the end of programmes so I thought it would be nice if I bought him a recordable freeview box. I have no idea of what I should be looking for though as I'm not that technical. My Dad would probably prefer it to be a brand he knows, in particular he is a big fan of Phillips but price is also an issue, I need to get something under £75. The name isn't important to me so if I cant get one branded its my gift to him so it will have to do!
If anyone could advise me what/where I should be looking for a decent one at a decent price it would be amazing (and if I can get cashback even better!). As I said, I am good at shopping around and getting bargains, but only when I know what I am looking for and I have no clue!
Thanks a lot, I really hope someone can help.

You are optimistic on price, but I suppose you could get a no name one for that.
However if you want quality go for a Humax 9200 Twin Tuner +160Gb hard disk.

Cheapest I've seen in the shops is the Durabrand model priced at £59.99 in Asda. This will do exactly what you want. Don't know much about Durabrand but if it's carp just take it back for a refund, no harm done.
Hope this helps.0
