Egg breaking the law ?

I will be quick and to the point with this as Egg have really wound me up.
Basically I have been making a token payment to all my creditors bar egg because they decided to reset my security so I can't login.
Fast forward a few days and I get a demand for payment (Which doesn't bother me in the slightest) but they took information from an old closed CC account to ring my parents to ask for my contact number. My parents have just rung me worrying and now the cat is completely and utterly out the bag. What a mass of crud to clean up now.:mad:
Am I right in assuming even the law thinks this is bang out of order?

If the bank has disclosed information about your account to them then yes, they shouldn't have done this. If however they have used an old contact number for you to update their records then i can't see that they've done anything wrong. I would be annoyed too in your position, but don't think they have broken any rules by just asking for an update of contact details. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
