Hi All!!
I'd just like to introduce myself to you all and see if anyone could point me in the right direction to use this site well!
I see that some people have a sort of on line diary, is that a good place to start?
Looking forward to any replies and cant wait to get started!!
Thank you in advance!

Hi Kelly,
Welcome ... and you've started in the right place. There are many DFW whizzes about here [not me I'm sorry to say], maybe if you gave them an idea of what your goals are, they will be able to give you more specific advice, e.g. completing your SOA. Good luck once you get going.0 -
hi Kelly
what are you hoping to achieve with MSE and DFW? Are you looking to clear debts?
The first thing to do is put together a Statement of Affairs, which is all your income, then all your outgoings and your debts.
Pop it up on this thread and we'll all have a looky-see to help you."Stay Wonky":D

Another vote for the SOA
You may also find it useful to pick a challenge to join, it has helped me stay motivated.

Thank you for the replies! I am looking to shift some debt, bring more money in and start to get a hold of my finances!
We always seem to live from month to month with no nest egg for emergencies or unexpected expenditure!
I would like to know where everything goes and have some spare! (wouldnt we all!!! :rotfl:)
I see that there are some challenges going? If someone could point me in the direction of those that would be great!!
I love a challenge!!:j

Hi there are loads of different challenges ranging from saving money you find on the street, no spend days (NSD) or people have their own challenges such as clear £X by Xmas.
A spending diary is a good place to start as well as your SOA, they will help you see where you can cut back and where the money goes.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Thank you for all of your help!!
Im really looking forward to taking control!!
Is there a list of all of the challenges going? I quite like the one £ for a lb challenge!

Hi again Kelly
Now you've got the ball rolling, I'll butt out and leave you in some very capable hands - however before I go, hope you don't mind me suggesting that you change your font colour. Some of us are eyeball challenged and light green type is definitely a challenge!! Happy money saving.0
