SFx's DF Mung bean Nappy Knitting Thread

Well much to our Mr Flowers and I are expecting a new addition to our little clan Easter next year!!

Well in true DF style - will save money on Alchyfrol, Tobacco, exotic holidays (well we weren't actually going on one but hey ho).

The only thing that we will buy new is a car seat - having had two before, some ten years ago, I realise that there is so much guff one does not actually need.

So here is my little diary on DF pregnancy - will need to save for the therapy baby flowers will need when they are a teenager!

  • Well, it has been nearly two weeks since I found out that I am soon to be classed by my local maternity hospital as a "geriatric mum" :S

So what moneysaving things have I done:

    1) Given up drinking -

    2) Given up smoking - never spent that much as we got our tobacco from europe and probably cost about £50 a year!!

We have decided that we are going for one of those three wheeled buggy with car seat thingymajiggies (technical term!) and I think we have found one for about £150, which is not bad considering some car seats are £110 - arghhhh.

Mr Flowers is desperate to use this as an excuse to upgrade our VW camper to another VW that is much bigger but is basically a box on wheels!!! Now all and all it is sensible but I just cant get rid of my lovely Big Red so am thinking of investing in a bell tent for next year so that we are able to carry on co-sleeping. Also will give me room to be with the little one etc, especially as we camp for 6 weeks in the summer.
