Hello,
This is my first of probably many posts. I am in quite bad debt approximately £35,000 plus I have a mortgage of approx. £75,000. Basically I have viewed the site and really like what I have seen, how supportive other members are and in general how good the advice is on the site. I really need some help getting started, below are some details.
After all out goings I have free to myself and family ( wife and 2 kids) - £86.00
Due to the job I do bankruptcy or IVA are not really an option as there is a high risk of me losing my job, I have looked into this and it is a possibility.
I would like to do some work from home but threr are so many scams I wouldn't know where to start, I am open to suggestions, survey sites etc. Even if the site pays in high street vouchers it would be a great help towards xmas. Anything to increase the £86.00.
I have done lots of car boot sales, I am buying the cheaper products from supermarket, riding my bike to work and thats how I got it down to approx. £86.00.
I am really at my wits end and it is really getting me down, I feel like as the man of the house I am letting my family down and just would like a bit of help.
Is there any news regarding bank charges too, if we can reclaim them yet or not.
Any lastly what are piggy points (piggy bank club??)
I thank you in advance for any replys or advice.
Thanks again

Hi and Welcome to the boards!
If you post a list of incomings and outgoings we maybe able to help you cut it down further.
Have a look at Pigsback thread (first 3 or so posts) on the Freebies section for advice on the piggy clicks.
Keep an eye on that board as there are so great samples and freebies, I recently got a Mr Men poster that I have given to a delighted 3 year old.
Have a look at all sections of this board to see what helps as there are lots of things that you can do, surveys try Onepoll, Toluna, yougov or try mystery shopping or couponing if you shop in Asda or Tescos. Have a look at the Discount board for newspaper offers/coupons. Then there is the world of cashback sites or matched betting.
I am sure that you will be able to have a good Christmas however much you save! Also make sure you look at the weekly money tips for good offers!Debt Free - done

DfD - i know that it seems a lot of work doing an SOA but I promise that it is so worthwhile, we can find pounds where you would have no idea, it may be harsh but it does work. People have managed to get themselves out of a huge amount of debt in a realtively short time by simply adhearing to their trimmed down SOA.

Hi Dreamer
Once you post up the SOA, we may be able to suggest areas in your expenditure to make savings in. If you also include the APR's for your debts, we should be able to advise the best method of paying these off, whether it be paying the minimum to all and throwing anything left at the highest interest, getting another card with a promotional offer - 0% or low interest life of balance (LOB), or even shuffling your existing cards to pay less interest and possibly get a promotional offer as an existing customer.
That aside, what skills do you have? Working form home sites are quite often either scams or very poorly paid. Would you be able to sell your services on elance or a similar site? There is alot of competition for most things but if you are good enough at what you do and can offer this service at a competitive rate, you may be able to make a bit more working from home. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
