Price increases at John Lewis

Not sure if this is the right place to put this.

If you have purchased items of furniture or office furniture from John Lewis this may be of interest

We generally buy our larger items form John Lewis and are happy with their service and prices.

We need to fit out our childrens bedrooms with office furniture and picked out some items from the John Lewis catologue for one of them.
When we went ino the store on Saturday the prices had gone up. When we asked for a copy of the new catalogue we were told it would not be out until 1/9. We were also told that other people were unhappy because of the price increases in sofas etc.

We were in a difficult position, but ended up ordering it at the new price. (£400 increased to £450).

When we got home we looked in the summer catalogue and their pricing policy guarantees the price until the next catalogue is out.

I phoned John Lewis and they refunded the difference with out question. Good on them, but it should not have happend in the first place.

Hope this helps anybody in a similar position
