After much soul searching and advice, I today phoned the court and have an appointment on 16/09 at 915am:eek:

I'm furiously filling out the paperwork and just wondered if people could give my their opinions on my expenditure? This is based on me, my wife and 3 year old daughter. So far I have:

Mortgage - £429
Secured Loan - £264

Gas - £31
Electricity - £43
Water - £43 (on a meter)
Council Tax - £99
Travel/Petrol - £150 (required for work)
Clothing - £90
Life insurance - £6
Building and contents - £25
Car insurance - £19
Car tax - £15
Mot and repairs - £15
Mobile - £25
Medical (prescriptions/dental/opticians) - £30
TV licence - £12
Hair - £25
Presents (christmas/birthdays) - £20
Holiday - £35
Household (food/cleaning etc) - £275
Emergency fund - £20
Telephone - £40 (includes broadband but I understand I shouldn't mention this?)

Have I missed anything obvious? Are my amounts reasonable?:confused:

  • Thanks for the reply. can i really get away with increasing the household side by £100?? I can honestly say we don't spend that, but if that is what is acceptable........

    Looks good you could up the vets to £20 as that seems to be the norm for pet insur. You have not put your income down, so not sure from what you have down as to whether you will get an IPA. They expect you have a reasonable liifestyle after debt/bc hense why they allow so much for food. so TF is right up it by at least £100.

    Don't forget you will not be able to get credit for a long time now and if anything breaks down then you will have to find the money to pay for it.so having some in reserve is a very good idea. I am getting a nice little nest egg under my mattress :)
