Hi, We did Edinburgh in a day (whirl-wind tour!),and had a fantastic time. Started off with Arthurs Seat (a walk), Back down to the Royal Mile, Up to The Castle (but no time to go around it unfortuately!), down to Princes Street for lunch (plenty of places), back up to the Royal Mile (there is a lot of walking and up and down in Edinburgh! - especially as we didnt plan it all that well!), then (and this was my main point), visited 'Mary Kings Close'. Fantastic - really, really interesting and well worth the visit. Cant remember how much, but they have a web-site. Its the streets of Edinburgh that were built originally underneath the Royal Mile -and they are still there today. Absolutely incredible - and I'm not a huge fan of history type attractions - but really fascinating to see this street and houses still there.
Next time (and there will be a next time!), we'll spend more time and visit more places, but I'd go there again like a shot.Any fool can pay full price!!0 -
Re the Zoo there were free entry to zoos on the side of Kellogs packets - I managed to get one a few weeks ago in my local shop and it allowed me my hubby, my 5 year old and 2 year old into the zoo for £17 - excellent value - you need to pay £3 odd for the car park:wave: Fit Likeee!:j0
