"Tapping" treatment?

Hi all,
What is the name for the treatment where you tap parts of your head, face, and body.
Also has anybody had any positve results doing this?
Thanks all.

ooh sorry - i didnt press refresh and I was wrong anyway!
  • EFT yes it works but it is actually complete bolox. There is no actual theory behind it apart from belief. I sometimes use it on some patients when Im bored but my version which works just as well is slightly different in the areas tapped. The point is the persons belief in the ritual of tapping has already triggered the mind into action.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

That is absolute rubbish. EFT originated from TFT ( Thought Field Therapy) and it works on non-believers! I have used it to work with phobias, anxiety and was originally trained in it when I worked in the addictions field to work with heroin addicts. Your perception is that it doesn't work but I have many clients who will testify to the opposite.

FWIW EFT is a diluted rip off of TFT :p
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!
  • Paul McKenna uses it if that's any help.

Er didnt I say it did work?

I too can get it to work perfectly well but I can break all the rules and still get the same results. I can even get my patients to hum the national anthem as well at the same time as tapping and it still works.

  • You can hum any tune while doing it.
There are Meridian points all over the body. You are suggesting it is placebo. It works great and I use it with most of my clients for a variety of things.

Yes and where is the scientific proof tapping any of these does any good?

You are suggesting it is placebo.

    Yes

Doesnt mean it isnt a placebo. Placebos work very well at times

    Paul McKenna uses TFT.

Paul mckenna uses a lot of things and that doesnt make it good. The best think paul does is marketing and I must say he is terrific at that

  • I don't really get where science has any real relevance in this. This is therapy not science.

Also I have to say I rather pity your clients if you 'use this when bored'. Shouldnt you be doing your level best to help them? After all they are paying you to do so. If you are bored maybe you are in the wrong game.
