Quick Question-Cooked Rotisserie Chickens???

Options
Hi

Bought 2 rottisserie cooked chickens yesterday morning. Ate some in sarnies and with rice last night and was using the rest towards the roast dinner today. Have just noticed that the chickens should be eaten within 2 hrs  is this correct? I have kept in fridge and still tastes fine-would you eat it? One is stuffing and the other BBQ flavoured.

Can anyone advise please? I have nothing else out for dinner. WAs going to serve cold with the dinner.

I could be wrong, but I think the "eat within 2 hrs" instruction is meant as a guideline for how long they can safely be kept warm in those foil bags before eating. If you popped it in the fridge when you got home then I don't see any reason why it can't be eaten cold today, just the same as if you'd cooked the chicken yourself

If you're at all unsure then how about re-heating it when sliced in the microwave or something until it's piping hot? I should think it would be fine cold though :)

If you got them at a supermarket you could phone them for clarification, but I do agree with Curry Queen - they should be fine!

this is just the shop covering themselves legally.
I got one a couple of weeks ago and it was my weekly 'rubber chicken', only cost about £1.30, cheaper than cooking it in my oven!

They do advise not to re-heat. If it went straight into the fridge though after it had cooled down it will be fine to eat cold as you would one you'd cooked yourself. The two hours is whilst still hot/warm from the shop. After that it has to be refridgerated which is what you've done .
