And you talk like someone who treats everything they hear on TV as gospelOnly a year or so ago the gruesome twosome had a program on C4 .. They were saying that house prices would continue rising at between 10-20% p.a. for the next 5 years at least! Boy, I hope that program gets a repeat. :rotfl:

Having avoided this part of the forums for a long time, I thought I would pop back and see what had changed.
Instead of the usual suspects ranting about LLL et al ramping up the market and its all going to end in tears (but not ours, ooh, we know the storm is a coming). It now seems to be more full of the same people ranting bad-naturedly about LLL and how they ramped the market up and should now be lynched.
Plus ca change, plus cest la mem chose.0 -

In the early 90s a guy I know put in a really really really near-joke low offer in a sealed bid for a property - it had to be made direct to the bank or their representatives for a home they'd taken possession of. It was accepted.
Who knows if he even bid the most? He had funds to complete almost immediately and did so after the bid was accepted.0 -

But presumably he was not desperate for THAT property and could be cool about it, or extraordinarily head over heart or ....put the rest of his bid money to a little help from the agent?0 -
Not me. But obviously the millions of people who watched LLL, a large proportion of whom will be prospective homebuyers, will be influenced by these two muppets. They were the 2 most visible and famous rampers of the housing market.God knows why anyone listens to either, what economics qualifications have they got? No wonder they're in hiding now.And you talk like someone who treats everything they hear on TV as gospel
