This may not technically be classifiable as money-saving, as they are quite expensive, but does anyone know the best way to cook grouse, and how many to allow for 2 adults + a 6-year-old?

They can be expensive, unless you know a shooter who give you them for free

Officially it should eb 1/2 grouse per person, for adults I would say you need more really, 2 grouse for the three of you should do. Tread carefully with getting the six year old eating it - grouse tastes 'stronger' than most meats, try to encourage her that that's a positive thing!
How to cook depends on how old the grouse are - casserole older, tougher birds and roast young'uns.0
