my daughters before is coming up in the next two weeks and she has started to show some interest in photography, i want to buy a cheap digital camera with a lcd scree, stupidly bought one from ebay and realised it is far eastern tat which is poorly made and has no lcd screen, i noticed argos have a decent looking vivatar camera (pink - which helps) for about £25.00, not sure if i would get it any cheaper.
any suggestions, it doesnt have to be pink!

If she is showing an interest in photography, please don't buy her a cheap camera. If she is genuinely interested, give her some cash to buy what she wants/needs.0

Or buy a decent older camera from a quality manufacturer.
You can get 2-3 megapixel Canon, Nikon, Fuji or Sony digital cameras off Ebay for £30 or less. This may not sound like many megapixels, but remember it's the lens system that usually makes the camera, more megapixels meaning better pictures is a salesman's myth.
Your daughter would be much happier with the results from a 3 megapixel quality camera than a cheap new one boasting '10 megapixels' - plus the quality secondhand camera should have a proper optical zoom and a few more settings for your daughter to experiment with when she feels confident.Total debt as at Jul 2012: Too much!0 -
hi sorry i didnt mention that shes only five and has two younger sister who no doubt will lend a helping hand, i didnt want to spend £80.00 on a camera for one of them to drop it or break it, but if i could get one around the £30.00 mark then i'd be happy.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

Those cameras I've been talking about also have a full 'auto' mode too, so your daughters can just point and click and the camera will select the right exposure options etc.
imho getting a new 'cheap' camera would lead to bigger dissapointments than buying a decent secondhand camera from a recognised brand, you should be able to get something like a Nikon Coolpix 3200, Canon PowerShot A410 or something like that for your £30 budget.Total debt as at Jul 2012: Too much!0 -
thanks i'll have a little ook at the models you mentioned and see whats about. thanks once againDwainDibley wrote: »Those cameras I've been talking about also have a full 'auto' mode too, so your daughters can just point and click and the camera will select the right exposure options etc.
