Mortgage name change

Would like some advice on whether it would be possible to remove a name from a mortgage and replace it with another? Also, would this cost a lot and would the new person have to go through credit checks, salary check etc??

Hi there, welcome to the forums.
I did this a few years ago and it was very straight forward.

I was given some forms to take away and all 3 parties had to sign them and we needed the signatures of witnesses too.
We paid a fee of around £200 and then we got confirmation letters saying it had been done etc.
I would imagine that it is more complicated these days but should still be fairly easy to do, i needed to provide wage slips for the new person whose name was going to be on the mortgage and i remember a couple of forms to fill in and sign but that is all. Sorry i cannot remember more details.
    Good luck

Basically, the person going on the mortgage must be a suitable replacemenrt for the person coming off.

If the person who is coming off's income is needed to support the mortgage, the person replacing them will need to have a similar income.
They will have to be credit scored as well, and will need to have a good credit rating
