Perverse advert from Provident Financial

Looking up train times on nationalrail I saw a banner ad for Provident Financial which left me absolutely gobsmacked. I clicked on it and had a quick go on their loan calculator which made me even more sick.

No matter how dire the straits you think you are in are, NOTHING warrants getting a loan from these people.

  • Is that some kind of sick joke? I know loans for small amounts over a short time often have quite high interest rates, but DAMN! That is crazy.

Unfortunately they target people with little chance of getting credit elsewhere, there have been documetaries and watchdog type programmes about them and their practices. I would agree avoid at all costs.

I have had a loan with provident in the past, due to my credit file being shot, and found them ok to deal with, but i do agree that their interest is way over the top!
