I bought one at PcWorld :eek: for 19.99. Just plugged in the USB and WXP recognised immediately.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Honestly apart from retrieving old files or the occasional boot disk I've barely used one in the last 5 years as an IT professional.
Internal ones from the car boot sale should be about 20p (very easy to fit), external ones on ebay would expect about £5 or less. At that price worth a gamble if not guaranteed. Even when something from ebay does turn out to be faulty many sellers will give a refund if you complain as they don't want bad feedback.
