Has anyone bought any of Aldi Award Winning Wines before? If so, may I know the name of these wines and how much they cost?
On a similar note, are there any Lidl Award Winning Wines? Names and price, please if there are any.

Niersteiner Gutes Domtal QmP Spätlese 2002 Rheinhessen is my partner favourite but I like
Villa Malizia (Italy) Pinot Grigio 2003
From the Veneto in northeast Italy, this estate-bottled Pinot Grigio is made by Bordeaux flying winemaker, Benoit Calvet. It has a medium-deep straw/gold colour, and a classic Pinot Grigio nose suggesting straw, a touch of honeysuckle, and soft pear fruit. There are little hints of both exotic, ripe nectarine, and a subtle floral nuance. On the palate it washes over the tongue with an easy-drinking fruitiness, but there is a nutty quality too. The fruit is again ripe pear and crisp apple, but those suggestions of sweeter, more tropical flavours linger on the tongue, and there is crisp, nimble acidity and a tiny hint of spice into the finish. This is uncomplicated, punter-friendly stuff, but we all need a bit of that from time to time. Lovely. £3.99 Aldi.
I also have it on good authority ALDI single malts are also good value. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I can thorougly recommend the Baron St Jean Red wine and it's only £2.39 a bottle.0 -
The Baron St John Vin De Pays De Jers white wine is an award winner.
Make sure you don't pick up the Vin De Pays Du Gerd white wine.
The bottles look very similar, the clue is the De Jers is a screw top (£2.39).
If you really are on the bones of your !!!!!! they do a bottle of spanish white for £1.78.
Please note Aldi do 4pint bottles of milk for 99p, 4p cheaper than any where else I try, only problem my Aldi does not stock fresh skimmed milk, in any size. 500g tub of natural yoghurt is only 45p at least 50% cheaper than anywhere else I look.0 -
Will add the Baron St Jean Red wine and Baron St John Vin De Pays De Jers white wine to the shopping list. ;D
Thanks a lot , folks.0
