references

had to give 2 once i accepted my new job last week,gave my boss i have just now and a boss who left last christmas,boss who left at xmas thought iwas wonderful and no doubt will give a glowing reference,but boss just now is giving me serious grief about leaving,so cant see that reference being glowing,will my new job be in jepoardy if i get 1 glowing and 1 indifferent???

    Wow no disrespect but do you take a breather in between sentences;)

    I would have thought the previous boss would now only give a personal reference.It will rely on the last boss. Many now only give facts such as start date, end date, sick record etc in case they get sued.

  • All either of them can do is state facts. You're no longer allowed to give opinions on a reference, so I don't think you've got anything to worry about so long as you haven't ever been in trouble at work or have a history of being late for work etc!
