Taking a loan for 8000 (debt is 7500) and closing all the cc accounts except maybe 1 with £1000 limit. this will be better as most of the 0% cards are running out.
Will pay more interest in the long run but atleast all the temptation is gone and out of the negatives on everything!0 -
Sounds like a good plan if you really can't trust yourself to do it another way.
May be worth calling barclaycard and see whether they will give you an 'existing customer balance transfer' with a rate for the 'life of the balance'.
Just make sure you clear your card first and never use it for purchases (cut it in half).
This type of transfer can often be a lot cheaper than a personal loan.
Good luck with the loan application. If you get nowhere with Barclays, give nationwide a try as they offer good value to all applicants and don't cherry pick the very best and decline people like you with a reasonable income, but quite a bit of existing debt.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
