Has anyone tried freezing maple syrup before? It's so expensive and i think you have to refrigerate and use within 2 weeks once opened, i never get through the whole bottle!

I find mine lasts for ages in the fridge - I've certainly never used it up in 2 weeks or thrown it out at the end of that period.0

I visited New England 5 years ago and bought a gallon container of Maple Syrup direct from a farm. It's still going strong - mr newleaf had some on his porridge this morning. We just keep it in the beer fridge

i have a bottle that has been in fridge for a good year or so at least, sometimes it can get a bit stuck with sugar crystals at the lid, but as long as proper maple syrup (rather than maple flavour) will keep for ages!

oh really, that's great. I wonder why it says on the bottle to use within a couple of weeks, it's very frustrating when they put things like that-no wonder there's so much food wastage! thanks a lot0

I've kept maple syrup for months after opening it, and I don't even keep it in the fridge. It has never gone off or lost any flavour.0
