Husband and Wife - Joint Tax option/transfer of allowance

Under self assesment - can you elect to be taxed jointly ?

My wife is shortly to recieve her state and private pensions. I on the other hand do not recieve any income ( except interest on personal bank accout )

Can I have my personal allowance transferd to my wife and how ?

    Not unless you were born before the 6th April 1935, in which case you could transfer Married Couple's Allowance to her.
