Mainly because people were taking without giving and complaining at the same time.

With correct date format, sorting, roboform and snaplinks, I find it as quick to do it myself.

And there is no waiting for it to appear and no horrible formating (my opinion).

And if I'm away, I can plan ahead :)

The reason I keep suggesting Google is that so many people seem confused and even scared by the idea of sorting the threads whereas everyone, pretty much, knows how to google. It's an easy way to start. If people know that they can always google if they make a mess of thread sorting it might give them the confidence to experiment.

Or again, it might not

Woohoo - a breakthrough thanks to lilias :T

Have a hug Hun!!

:kisses:

The ""''s made all the difference on Google - I had one " but had missed the other "..............

Oops :o

My sanity has been restored - off to make cyber tea and toast for lilias as a celebration!

Very welcome this time in the morning :)

Happy googling!
• right tried that way though now managed with google:Txx
Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream
• For those that might still be having problems with google remember to put the site in lower case:

"E: 04/09" site:moneysavingexpert.com

For some strange reason if you put it in CAPITALS it doesn't find anything!
Life's what you make it....

"I've got one, two, three, [STRIKE]four[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]five[/STRIKE]... senses working overtime..", XTC.

Life beyond voluntary work scares me, but what else is there?

And AGAIN please remember that using Google to find comps ending may well bring up ones that are very old ie 2007 etc, so please remember to check the posting dates thoroughly :)

Had a reply from Brothers Cider (very quick)
Hi Shelly,

You should definitely have received the case by now so it may have been damaged by Amtrak. Unfortunately I can't put a trace out on it as they have since gone into receivership. If you can send me your address again I will try to get a replacement to you this week.

So fingers crossed I should get it soon:beer:

Sorry for bothering you again, but maybe anyone of you knows what to do in situation like this?
I won this competition: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1090791 which should include 'one night’s dinner, bed and breakfast at The Thistle Hotel in Brighton, a pair of tickets to the finals of The 2008 SWATCH FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships, standard class train travel with First Capital Connect to and from the event, and a Nivea Sun goody bag.'. Now I received letter from organizator, that 'There has been a small change in the hotel you are staying in, which is now the Jurys Inn in Brighton, directions attached. I hope this is ok'.
It's a big difference between Thistle Brighton hotel (normally from £310) and Jurrys Inn (normally from £69) and I really was excited about the prize just because of hotel. Terms and conditions doesn't say anything that prize might be changed, is there any possibility to claim about it and get the prize that was promised? :o
• Goodmorning :)

Hi Anta :)

It may be worth getting in touch with Edwin Mutton to ask, I've taken this excerpt from the Compers Guide about not getting your prize (I've highlighted the bit with the details in, he may be able to tell you whether they can change the prize or not

7 What happens if my prize doesn’t turn up?
This is going to be individual to each comp. Usually it will state in the T & C for each comp how long it should take for the prizes to be dispatched to winners. As a general rule though or in the absence of any particular details in the T & C, allow 28 days, (allow more if we are experiencing postal strikes or extreme weather conditions). If the prize hasn't arrived by then, get in touch with the company offering the prize. Try to contact the person whose details you have & ask politely if there is a problem with delivery. A telephone call is the best way, but failing that try emailing them. If they don't reply, look on the original website for contact details & contact them, again being as polite as you can.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Sales Promotions complaints@isp.org.uk lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes with one chap in particular Edwin Mutton, being an absolute star.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.

I had an issue with a prize not turning up & after chasing politely for 5 months, I mentioned that I had been advised to talk to the Institute of Sales Promotions about the matter. Funnily enough that resulted in a letter of apology within a few days, along with a box of ‘Apology Goodies’ & my prize turned up 2 weeks later. Just remember to keep your cool & remain polite.
