Anyone any ideas on this?!?!

Bankruptcy proceeding imminent but I was wondering about the following.
I have a private number plate on my car (that was bought for me, by my parents, for my 21st). Even though Im more than likely going to lose my car I want to keep my registration (on retention). I think its worth around £300.
I would need to pay around £80 to put on retention and get new reg for car prior to it being included in bankruptcy. Would this be seen as "wasting money (spending £80 for retention) or irratic spending or as trying to dispose/hide assets(by taking reg off car)? As I said it is not highly valuable but high in sentimental value.

But what's the car worth and is it essential for work or other activities?

Just make sure you pay it in cash and don't leave a paper trail. Saying that you won't automatically lose your car. What is its value, is it on HP, do you need it for work etc. Give more details before we can give an appropriate reply.

The car is probably worth 3000-4000 (at a push). No mention of hire purchase on contract, just "Finance provided by Black Horse" so looks like a loan on car. As I am not working ata the mo (unable to return following birth of my son - now 10 months - as I would earn less than childcare would cost for kids) only essential for social / domestic purposes really.
